Seriously. This is a problem. I want to see art made by actual people.

I wish I could get back into drawing, I've got ideas for stuff I want to draw.

The problem is, I don't have any drive or motivation for it. It's like I don't even want to draw anymore. It sucks.

#CancelCulture came up on Twitter again recently and I felt like giving my two cents.

If someone made mistakes, but legit wants to apologize and be better, then I believe they should be FORGIVEN. "Cancelling" someone should ONLY be used if they continue making the same terrible choices, insist that they did nothing wrong, and refuse to be better.

While 'canceling' someone can be helpful in certain situations, (like with our former president Trump, for example,) immediately jumping on canceling someone based off a single impression, in my opinion, is just jumping on the bandwagon and is NOT helpful to society.

If someone did terrible shit in the past, but has proven to regret the things they did/said back then and has done plenty of good stuff since then they should be forgiven. Keep in mind, FORGIVING SOMEONE DOES NOT HAVE TO CONDONE WHAT THEY DID, it simply means giving them a chance to redeem themselves.

The problem is that too often, 'Cancel Culture' kind of has an itchy trigger finger, it's often a case of 'shoot first and ask questions never'. While some people do indeed deserve to be canceled, it is important to ask who this person is and what they've done, both now and in the past.

In summary:

DON'T CANCEL: People who apologize for their past actions, want to be better, and have done good things.

DO CANCEL: People who do not own up to their mistakes and continue to defend their own terrible actions. Repeatedly do toxic things.

DO ask questions about the person being targeted instead of immediately jumping on the bandwagon. Ask why, what did they do, was it in the past, what are they doing now?

Hey everyone. I don't really spend as much time on DeviantArt as I used to, but today is a special occasion.

Longtime watchers who have been following me since the beginning of my time here might remember that back in the mid-to-late 2000's I was obsessed with a certain Zelda Fan Film called "Legend of Link" that was originally uploaded to Google Video in 2005. Apart from re-uploading the movie to YouTube where it gained a wider cult following, I was even able to get in contact with the creators of the film and even served as a moderator on their forums for awhile!

The director, Danny Sammons Jr. eventually reuploaded the entire movie in parts to his own YouTube Channel. However, over time, YouTube struck down several parts due to their use of copyrighted music. Sammons has been radio silent for years regarding the possibility of reuploading those parts, so it seemed like they might be wiped forever. I've had people asking me themselves if I had it, but sadly, I couldn't find it.

Fast forwards to earlier today.

I got a direct message from another user on DeviantArt asking about how they were nostalgic about the movie and wanted to know if I had the missing parts. At this point I was convinced that I no longer had any of the original files, but I decided to do a quick search on an old hard drive I had. I hadn't been able to use this particular external hard drive for years due to a broken cable. Earlier this year, however, I had managed to find a replacement and was able to get it working again. It was messy, unorganized. I had no idea what was buried deep in there.

I found it.

All of the parts condensed into one, two and a half hour movie. It had been on this old hard drive the whole time. Given, the video quality is pretty low and its missing the ending credits/after credits scene, but as far as I know, apart from perhaps what Sammons might have, it's the most complete version of the Legend of Link out there.

I happily reported this to the person who messaged me, uploaded it to my Google Drive, and sent him a download.

Naturally, I don't intend to stop there. I can't put this entire movie on YouTube because it would just be taken down due to copyright, but my plan is to make a trailer video announcing my find and providing a link to that download.

Expect it to come out very soon!
